Is this a good guitar?

I want a good Jazz guitar. I am just starting studying and I am not sure if I should get a jazz acoustic or a classical guitar or a jazz electric. I found this guitar on amazon that is a jazz acoustic and it is about 200$ which is around the price I am looking for. Here is the link:

How do I tune my hollow body Jazz Guitar without breaking my strings?

I have an Old Hollow body Jazz guitar with a floating bridge. When trying to tune it to E flat, the strings break. Its the right octave because the strings practically fall off the neck when I have it in the octave below.

I think it has something to do with the way my bridge is placed. Any ideas?

Need advice from guitar players and techs?

I had an Epiphone Casino, a Dobro, a 12-string Strat, and a Dean 12 string Acoustic. I loved them all. But my apt got burglarized and everything was stolen. No renter’s insurance. I have to have a guitar!!!!! All I have is 350 dollars to buy a guitar. I like dirty blues and jangly 60′s classic rock, with some earthy Dylan and CSN thrown in here and there. I’ve kinda settled on a new Gibson Melody Maker for 9 or a one yr old Yamaha AEX1500 for 0. The Yamaha tempts me because its in great shape and retails new for like 00. But man, that’s a huge loss of value, isn’t it? It’s also a Jazz guitar, but I think I could play with it to get my rockier sounds. The Melody Maker just seems like a great value for a new Gibson AMERICAN guitar. What do you think? here are the two links.

What should I buy? I really don’t like the Ibanez’ and Jackson lines. I don’t like the Epiphone LP’s or SG’s. Any other ideas?

What are some advanced practice methods for jazz guitar? How can I boost my confidence?

I’ve just begun my first semester of studying Jazz guitar in college, but my practice schedule is now random and my self-esteem as a player (and thus, as a person simultaneously) is waning. What are some intellectual exercises that can help expand my melodic vocabulary and give more focus to my approach?

I honestly can’t thank anyone enough who’ll set me straight.

jazz guitar question?

I have been playing guitar for many years but mainly classical and flamenco, I have recently discovered I love gypsy jazz and have been exploring Jazz guitar a lot more. My problem is that although i am aware there exists a lot of jazz theory, scales, licks, playing scales from different chords over the top etc, i dont know how to do any of it. Would doing Jazz guitar grades be of help or is there a good website to learn this stuff from? Are there any good gyspy jazz resources – some of those solos are just to fast to figure out by ear! Thank for your help!
